Idea development doesn't need to be as hard as I make it some times. The activity we did in class with writing a story with the given title to use was a great way to generate ideas and yet such a simple way to do it. Each group came up with such unique stories. Listing character traits about oneself and turning them into sentences was a wonderful idea to get a jump start on our song writing - although I'm still having a tough time turning it into a "song."

Five words to describe me would be: outgoing, fun, determined, independent and responsible.
Responsible - I have priorities and I do my best to keep them in order...otherwise I go crazy!

  1. I agree with you, idea generating does not have to be that hard, I make it hard to sometimes. I do have to admit though sometimes I just write a paper and it will come to me. I made up the sentences and now I am having a hard time too, making it into a song, but what helps me is when I hear a potential song I put my sentence and see if it makes sense!

  2. You're right, something as simple as a topic title can really help get children's minds going (I know it helped me). Not only will it help children generate ideas, but it also allows them to have fun with the activity and gives them an added incentive to try harder.
